Värmland Polska

An Italo-Indian viola player teaching a dance rhythm from Western Sweden to baroque musicians from Italy and France gathered in Finland: indeed, this was truly a Glomas challenge…!

However, with the help of Esko Järvelä and the musicianship of all the group members (not to mention that of more “technological” resources….), the problems concerning groove and unfamiliar rhythmical patterns were greatly improved.

An excess of rationalisation might slow down the process of learning rhythms that despite being complicated still bear a strong connection with the body and the movement.

Shifting the focus from a rational approach to a deeper physical awareness of the groove, Brú members have been able to prepare the piece in a short time and present it to the audience at the concert.
